Evolution looks like a solid title that probably should have been mentioned. It was one I never got to play, but some Youtube videos have shown some good battles. Definitely thanks for mentioning it!

Sure was. And the game was voice controlled! Maybe Nintendo thought this was a cool idea and used it for the DS?

Just cause an idea isn't the most original doesn't mean it was copied, heh.

Anyways, I thought this was one of your better blogs as of late. I got a few chances to give the Dreamcast a whirl, and I had fun. Unfortunately, Sega just couldn't keep up with it's competitors.

The Dreamcast is an amazing system simply because it only cared about how fun a game was, not how good its graphics are, I mean look at the number of 2d fighting games it has while Sony shunned upon 2D graphics during the PS2 era.

A good summary of the dreamcast, felt a bit more like a history lesson than anything else though. Anytime you include some more personal insight, or raise interesting questions (for example-is the dreamcast overrated?) ...I enjoy it, when it reads like a wikipedia summary, well I appreciate it but don't enjoy it so much.

'However, I still don't believe that this list is that jaw-dropping compared to the libraries of the other three sixth-generation consoles. Playstation 2 fans could produce a list a mile long, Gamecube fans could compare the great Nintendo exclusives list to it, and the Xbox fans could mention Halo 2 a good thousand times while still bringing up plenty of noteworthy games.'

I feel like this point could really have been expanded on, is there something about the dreamcast games that...despite the lack of quantity, they make up for in charm and orginality?

or are people just indulging in the tragedy of a fallen hero in a cruel videogame market?

You raised the question 'is it the best system ever?' ...then spent most of your discussion comparing it to the other 3 systems of it's time...and concluded to say it deserved it's cult status/wasn't a failure, it feels like these are all separate points.

Overall I liked what you did, but definitley some of the factual information was unncessary, and could have done with a bit more focus.

but man still a damn interesting read!

I probably did lose some folks on that one. What I was trying to do is debunk the entire "greatest ever" deal by comparing it to the other consoles of that generation, but it deserves the cult status because of the huge following it had and still has today. Hopefully I'm making some shred of sense at 3AM.

I really liked this new Swift Justice. It was quick and to-the-point, and made up for a good read. I already knew that this thing was fail from watching the AVGN, but hey, I still enjoyed the article.

I really liked this weeks article too. I have but one teensy problem. You mentioned that if the genesis breaks, you have a $159 paperweight. I don't see what the big deal is though, since a broken system is a broken system. And really if your genisis is broken, you've got two paperweights totalling out at $349. But I'm just nitpicking, the article was really good.

Hahaha. You're absolutely right. If the Genesis breaks, then I guess you're screwed on your 32X AND your Genesis. That would make for a very bad time.

Just read the latest one.

I didn't think people knew much about Thrill Kill since it was never released.

A lot of people enjoy researching and testing out Thrill Kill. Here's some videos from a friend of mine about the game.

GOD DAMNIT!

I can't enjoy these blogs because for some reason they're always center aligned. It becomes so much harder to read and more annoying to read when all the text is center aligned and looks like a jagged x-mas tree. Please fix this guys. :(

"Fall down a pit"...the new "Boot to the head"? ;-)
Anyway, I like that you (Debaser) tried to take an unbiased look at the game. Of course, I'm not exactly surprised by the outcome XD .

I never realized it costed Atari that much money, that it was such a failure and that it was such a bad time to have a failure for Atari. Before I had just figured it was a bad game in a sea of bad games for the Atari with not much signifigance other than it's reputation. Definately looking forward to the next case.

a lot of what people nowadays think was bad about ET was true of all atari games. i'm sure the average person would judge something like yar's revenge or vanguard or demon attack pretty harshly by todays standards. not that ET was perfect i mean sometimes you just couldn't get out of a pit, but i played it a lot growing up. it wasn't a game i disliked by any means

The feedback is greatly appreciated, guys. The video was a bit of a test run to see the reaction of video SJ vs all text SJ - I'd say we have a winner. Truth is, whether the articles are good or not, I hear and understand the complaints that it is overall boring. I know that I have a reputation for some fairly epic writings, but epic is definitely not what I've been doing here. I think going to video would not only be the best move, but it'd also be very awesome.

Again, thanks.
