If you want to smoke weed do it with one or two close friends. The reason for this is if youve never been high before you might not know what to expect and you can feel very out of place and confused with how you feel, causing you to be paranoid and panicky. Being with a friend or 2 friends allows you to just sit back and chill and focus on the situation easy instead of at a party or club or something where so much is going on. It can really overwhelm the sences until you are used to it.
That's pretty much it right there. If you ever try a drug for the first time, always do it in a controlled environment. It's always better to know that even if you trip balls, the worst thing that could happen is you end up curled up on somebodies couch wrapped up in blankets while the high passes. Chronic usually won't put you that far, but I've seen some crazy shit happen to people when they smoke.
Anyways, on to the weed topic. I smoke. Way less then I used to because I have way more responsibilities now. Not that getting stoned makes me forget my responsibilities, it's more due to the fact that I don't have the time. Back in the day when I worked fast food or retail I loved getting off of work, picking up taco bell, getting ripped and playing video games. There was a group of this that did this all the time. It would be a twice weekly ritual, usually Wednesdays and Saturdays. The weed was plentiful because we all put in on it, and our dealer would actually come through my drive through and hand me a sack inside a sack (weed sack inside a fast food bag). I'd hand him some free eats with the money in the bag and it'd be on. That was probably the best set up I'd ever seen.
For me, weed is fun. But like Link said, anything taken to extremes is bad. Myself, I've cut back to maybe, MAYBE, 3 times a year now. Thankfully, I've never had any sort of additive personality so it's not like I start to twitch. Now, it's fun when I can squeeze it in but I don't sit here and think about my next fix.
Also, I'm a firm believer that anything you put in your body that causes a chemical alteration, I'm talking anything from weed to coffee to asprin can have negative consequences. But I also believe that depending on your lifestyle, they are consequences that you can counter act through other healthy choices...exercise, proper nutrition, etc.
Anyways, more power to anyone who tokes.
BTW, Phil, if you are reading this, the first time we played Left 4 Dead I was stoned out of my gourd. That's why we played a whole campaign and I barely said a word.
