Forum rules

Rules

1. All normal forum rules apply.

2. NO JOKES! This isn't the topic for funny pictures or wise ass remarks.

3. Serious topics need to be well thought out when written, they also need to have well thought out replies. Please try to write more than a single sentence. Back up your opinion with facts or something else.

4. Keep a cool and calm head, especially about things such as politics, gay rights, religion, etc. People are allowed to have differing opinions than you, please don't view them as personal attacks, please don't start any sort of major drama or get all offended here. In the end, we're all friends still.

5. Use common sense when posting in here, which simply means ask yourself if this is something really worth posting, are you intentionally being mean to someone, if your topic is ridiculously controversial (IE. Baby Eating), are you accidentally bashing Christianity on Easter Day, etc.

6. In your posts, please try to clarify whether you're speaking based on fact or personal experiences as it will lead to less misunderstandings. Please do not state opinions as if they were facts without proof to back it up.

7. NO DRUNK POSTING.

Failure to comply with any of these rules (additional rules may be added in the future as needed) will result in a warning or perhaps a banning from the 'Why So Serious?' sub-forum. The severity of the punishment works in tandem with the severity of your actions.

I don't know what exactly I am suppose to say because after all I just found the story and it happened yesterday. The article I found about it was on CNN.com and obviously your heart goes out to John, Kelly, and their daughter Ella considering all of them were having a vacation when this happen. Now I can understand CNN talking about Jett's Kawasaki disease, because, at this point for all we know that could be a contributing factor in his untimely demise. After all he is only 16 years old and I'm sure there are a few people on this forum that are his age if not younger. I can even understand mentioning John's interview when he said that Jett and a brush with death as a two year old because all of the chemical fumes and when Kelly was on Montel stating the same thing.

But what bothers me is the fact that CNN had to mention at the end of the article both John and Kelly's acting credentials plus the book John wrote.

How the fuck is that even related to the story? Only an idiot wouldn't know who John Travolta is and if someone wants to find out about Kelly Preston can go on to IMDB or Wikipedia. Hell to be honest I had no clue who Kelly was except what I figured she was either his girlfriend, fiancée or wife and that is all I needed to know. I didn't need to know about her being in Jerry Maguire. I swear all that did was cheapen the fact that a family lost their child. That they lost their only son.

Right now I wish I knew who this Valerie Streit (the person who wrote the article) was. Because even though I have a strict policy against a men causing physical harm to women, but, that last piece of the article makes me want to smack the bitch upside her head. The only thing I wish for more is that I could some how attend the funeral so I can both express my sympathy to John, Kelly, and Ella, but to give any paparazzi scumbag who has the gall to take pictures a swift kick to the ass for capitalizing on a family's pain.

People want to know why his death is so important and such. The author was prolly just assuming that there are some people out there that don't know who John Travolta or his wife are, so she put a little blurb at the end just to let people know. Not to mention that journalists usually do that with most articles involving actors/singers/idols/whatever. I don't really know why you're so worked up about it.

I just think it is kind of pointless to do something like that. If that was something we needed to know we can find out ourselves and we don't need someone reporting on the death of their son to do that.
