Forum rules

Rules

1. All normal forum rules apply.

2. NO JOKES! This isn't the topic for funny pictures or wise ass remarks.

3. Serious topics need to be well thought out when written, they also need to have well thought out replies. Please try to write more than a single sentence. Back up your opinion with facts or something else.

4. Keep a cool and calm head, especially about things such as politics, gay rights, religion, etc. People are allowed to have differing opinions than you, please don't view them as personal attacks, please don't start any sort of major drama or get all offended here. In the end, we're all friends still.

5. Use common sense when posting in here, which simply means ask yourself if this is something really worth posting, are you intentionally being mean to someone, if your topic is ridiculously controversial (IE. Baby Eating), are you accidentally bashing Christianity on Easter Day, etc.

6. In your posts, please try to clarify whether you're speaking based on fact or personal experiences as it will lead to less misunderstandings. Please do not state opinions as if they were facts without proof to back it up.

7. NO DRUNK POSTING.

Failure to comply with any of these rules (additional rules may be added in the future as needed) will result in a warning or perhaps a banning from the 'Why So Serious?' sub-forum. The severity of the punishment works in tandem with the severity of your actions.

Henry VII did it... why don't the gays?

There are thousands in existence. A giant Gay Church in Dallas. In fact the one in Dallas, Cathedral of Hope, is the largest gay church in the world. http://www.cathedralofhope.com/NetCommunity/Page.aspx?pid=305&srcid=-2

And before anyone even thinks of saying that they've completly changed the Bible, just a little bit of research into your own faith/church/denomination will show your changes. King James Version v. New KJV v. American Standard v. New AS; many big parts are completely different. I remember one of the NKJVs took out all sexually orientated pronouns (he/she/his/hers etc.). Not to mention, but I will any way, do you wear clothes of unatural fibers? When your daughter, sister, wife or girlfriend is bleeding from the vagina do you make them stay indoors until they stop? Do you burn their bloody panties when Aunt Flow has packed her bags and went on holiday for three to four weeks? Have you ever earned your Red Wings or even had premarital sex? There are many other things that have been changed about the "Word of God" edited by man that some simply don't recognize. In fact, we're all going to hell according to Leviticus. I know I am.

To me, I've always felt that if you love someone, you marry them. Therefor, marriage is the bond of two people who love each other. Why not let these people wed? I have yet to read or hear a single argument that proves anything but the fear and hatred of those arguing against it. What's wrong with the word being applied solely to a union of to people who Love each other? By disallowing the word "marriage" to be used, as a nation; we are saying outright that these people are different from us. I see it as no different from a whites only sign.

I've stated this before in another thread but I stongly belive in gay marriage. Not neccisarily because I want gays to marry (I'll be blunt: Honestly, weather gays can marry or not does not really have any adverse affects on my life) although I think they should and be able to if they want to, but I want gay marriage because I stongly believe in seperation of church and state. They say that they think marriage should be between a man and a woman because of Adam and Eve, but that isn't true. The Catholic Church says that homosexual marriages are wrong because of Leviticus 20. In this chapter it talks about how homosexuality is wrong and marriages between two of the same sex should not be tolerated. However, Leviticus 19 states that a murderer should be punished by death, yet the Catholic Church is staunchly opposed to the death penalty. In Leviticus 20, It also states that an illegitamite child's existance is an offense to God, however the Catholic Church opposes every form of abortion. And also, in Leviticus it never states anything about lesbian relationships, just male homosexual ones. So should we only be punishing men? In my opinion, using Leviticus to justify anything is moot, and there isn't anything else in the Bible that says anything about homosexuality.

Also, to say that children's minds will be tainted if gay marriages are allowed is complete bullshit. Just because gay marriage is allowed doesn't mean that this gay guy will come into your child's school everyday and talk about how great sodomy is and that they should try it out. If two gays get married, then they will probably move into a house somewhere and live thier lives, not start parading gay porn through the streets which is apparently what some people think they will do.

Personally, I think that all these adamant churchy people are full of hate... Real talk though... No matter what religion you follow, there is no need to take this into our hands... If this is such a blasphemy to whatever religion you follow, shouldn't this be ultimately up to God or whoever your supreme being is??? I know of a lot of folks that use religion as their stance on why this is wrong but is it that necessary for us to shun this??? Couldn't we worry about more pressing issues and leave this one to the lord or god of your following??? They're denying a freedom... and it sucks...

its only the english version of the bible that really comes out against homosexuality and even then not all bibles include such verses.
