Try walking into a job interview and saying, "Sup, b*tches? Nice m*th*rf*ck*ng place you run here." When they don't hire you, THEN try to sue them, claiming discrimination based on a "holier-than-thou" prejudice they had against you and your way of life.

Actually, f*** that. If you did that in America, you'd probably win the stupid lawsuit.
Genius!

I think swear words are mainly Anglo-Saxon words that were seen as 'vulgar' by the 'educated' people. They were just normal words, but I think they were seen as common by the French (I think it was them, I may be wrong). Another reason why it's stupid to get all holier than thou about it.
Actually, Blue is right about this one. Most vulgar words derive from a mixture of the two Old English dialects. The Saxon aspect being that of civility, you saw a split in the language.
Anglo - Shit = Saxon - Defecate
Anglo - Fuck = Saxon - Copulate
Anglo - Piss = Saxon - Urinate
These are only a few examples, but the Saxon influence is indeniable. If you look at the Saxon words, they are very much French in origin whereas the Anglo have very Germanic roots.
Its funny that this split in language actually lends itself to why some words are considered vulgar.
