Super 8 - 9/10. Not to rehash what's already been said but really good movie with a Goonies/Stand By Me/Cloverfield vibe going on.

X-Men First Class - 8/10

I'd give it a 9 based on James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender's performances alone (both absolutely brilliant) and a certain cameo we're all aware of. Overall a fantastic movie and entertains all round, I'd rate it higher than X2 which is the movie most seem to compare it too, I'm not a huge fan of the comics (just haven't read them) but out of all the movies I enjoyed this film the most and can't wait for it on Blu-Ray to re-watch it.

Hoping to see Transformers 3 next week (but I've never watched TF2, debating if I should watch it before seeing TF3) and then Harry Potter DH Part 2 in July and Captain America soon after, still debating to see Green Lantern or not given there's plenty of other (arguably better) movies to come this year

Amazing movie, the perfect mix of action and sci-fi.
It was like ET meets The Goonies....and I couldn't ask for anything more.

Transformers: Dark of the Moon - 8.5/10

Not as a Transformers fan, but as someone who went in wanting an over-the-top action movie I loved the film, the action was a blast to watch, Shia isn't too terrible but that over-the-top yelling, especially entering the "top secret" factory place was hilariously bad, there were the few niggles (Deep Wang, what was all that) For just going in to enjoy a good action film I really enjoyed it, the final act including all the fighting in Chicago was just awesome to watch, I'm sure Transformers diehards and Michael Bay haters will loathe and criticize this movie to the extreme but going in with no expectations but wanting to have a good time and watch an over-the-top explosions tour de force action movie, I enjoyed it immensely.

It also helps I never saw Revenge of the Fallen haha, didn't even need to see it to follow this one

The Room - 10/10, but only in terms of bad movie quality. Not nearly as fun watching it by yourself I'd bet.

Beautiful film, with Woody Allen finally making a film worthy to be along sides of Manhattan and Annie Hall in cinematography and writing. The massive amount of work that went into making this self embracing, nostalgia filled film is, to make a long story short (too late) amazing.

Batman and Robin 2/10

The only redeeming factor of this movie was to requote the horrible dialogue from the movie. Time to kick some ICE! Plus Alicia Silverstone must of been cracked out of her gourd while on the set most of the time. She mumbles a lot, stares off blankly into space when on screen but not the center of attention and just seems out of it. Also everyone's leather suit had nipples but hers. I was dissapointed in this.

Ip Man: Based on (reasonably) true events, Chinese martial arts master Ip Man and his family are among many who had there lives ruined by the Japanese invasion of China in WWII. A japanese general stages martial arts contests between the Chinese civilians and his japanese students. When Ip Man discovers his friends have been killed in these contests shit gets real...

Prepare yourself for what may be the most bad-ass moment in the history ownage of all time...

Donnie Yen, the lead actor, is just amazing to watch in this movie. He puts on some ridiculous fight scenes and that makes this movie a lot of fun to watch. If you have Netflix streaming, go check it out (it has English subtitles) because it really is one of the best movies I've seen.

Rating: 10/10

Captain America 10/10 (as always based on nothing more than personal enjoyment)

I looooved this flick. Had a big stupid grin almost the entire time. Lotta fun and with some cool nods for the fans.

Captain America 6/10

I donno. I really wanted to walk away liking it more but that second half was pretty underwhelming. The crowd was annoying as hell, but even if they weren't I would still have given it the same grade. The action was almost all in montage scenes, it got too sci-fi for a movie set durring WWII and Hydra never came off threatening. Hell they're armed with laser cannons and get taken down by a few hundred unarmed prisoners.

Chris Even did a good job though as did the rest of the cast, but they just weren't given enough.

Spoiler for some pros and cons

Spoiler
I was digging the movie up until the point Steve sneaks into the Hydra base. I loved the scrawny Steve bits, I loved that chase through New York, hell I even loved how he made use of his USO costume when he did storm the base. But I was bummed to see the movie degrade into a handful of sci-fi shoot out montages with one shield throw.

Like I said I liked a lot of the actors picked for the parts. I thought Dum Dum Dugan was pretty spot on as were the Howling Commandos. I just wish there was more for each of them. Also I expected the one black guy in the Commandos to be Nick Fury, but I guess not. I figured they didn't want to have to explain his age but Fury's already established that he's older than he lets on in Iron Man 2.

I thought they presented a good Bucky, but then they just wrote him out after his one action scene. :uhh:

The last fight with the Red Skull was a mess. I was expecting a great fight, but instead they just fell around as the plane went into a nosedive. I liked that rather than out right kill him they had the Cosmic Cube suck him in? Whatever it was, I was happy they can easily write him back into any movie.

I will say I have faith in Joss Whedon's Avengers though.

The Adventures of Baron Munchausen 10/10

Everybody needs to see this movie at least once. It's basically Victorian era sci-fi put to film. Terry Gilliam is a god amongst men.

Horrible Bosses 9/10

I was laughing almost the whole time. Nobody really plays a character you've never seen them play before though. Charlie Day is basically Charlie Kelly, Jason Bateman is basically Michael Bluth, and Jason Sudeikis is Jason Sudeikis. They still play them well, though. Kevin Spacey was great as always but Colin Farrell is really the only blemish on the film acting wise. He was just horribly miscast.

Spoiler
I was also kinda mad that Jennifer Aniston never really gets her comeuppance.

Amazing isn't enough to describe how brilliantly made this film was. While the first half focused on the war, the second half was the unfair trials of 3 men chosen to be executed for cowardice, despite them being in the middle of the bloodshed. The movie doesn't try to bring in any speeches of the brutality of war and the people behind it, but rather shows you the depression, suffering, and tears of the soldiers, the hypocrisy and brutality of the general and other higher officers, and human nature at the face of death. It's one of the films that doesn't need words to show the injustices, but brilliantly portrays it. Not only is this one of Kubrick's best films (that's saying a lot), but one of the mos powerful, if not the most powerful, anti-war film I have seen.

Go see it now.
