Saw this trailer already... and it looks awesome. After seeing how good the two live action Death Note movies turned out (based on the good parts of the anime, imo lol), I expect this to be faithful to the games and to be entertaining at the same time. Not like it's the same actors or director or anything, it just shows me that the Japanese actually care about the source material rather than Hollywood tearing it up and making it into something completely different.

I don't if I will ever have the chance to see a full subtitle/dubbed version of this when it comes out, but that trailer looks very true to the series! Overdramatic and characters look very true to games as well!

shit like this usually has a sub within 3-6 months...fansub but still subs.

Uh... what? Did I miss something?! =/ All in due time, my friend... all in due time. Funimation or Viz will probably license and sub/dub it.... I mean if they could dub that terrible Tekken movie AND show it in theaters (for a day) then I can see this coming here pretty soon. As the other dude said, you can watch illegally fansubbed as well, but who knows when it will be out on Japanese DVD or Blu (that's usually when they do it).

The Tekken movie was originally in english. Fansubs aren't technically "illegal" per se' sites like Animesuki.com hosts them legally till publishers like Viz or Funimation pick them up. As long as you download them before they're licensed for North America, it's legit.

Think of it as word of mouth advertising, the more people that download the torrents the more publishers want to license the anime/movie it's a win-win.

I was referring to the CG one, were you referring to the live action one (I never saw that one)? Fansubs are a very touchy subject with nearly everyone I know... maybe even worse than the sub/dub arguments that I always see, lol. I technically agree with you, but the sad reality is that 98% of the guys who download them almost never buy the actual release. I'm not taking sides on the matter but I will say 75% of my physical anime collection I bought due to originally watching the fansubbed release.

Fansubs are an essential life support system to anime, it's one of the main reasons it became big over here to begin with. It's people who keep torrenting fansubs and other crap despite the regular sites no longer hosting them and telling people to stop filesharing their stuff now.
