Sherlock is a series of 3 made for TV movies co-created by Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss who both are known to have worked with Doctor Who. Steven Moffat in particular. Sherlock is a series of 3 movie length episodes per season that puts the entire series in modern day England.

I've seen Episodes one and two already. And I have to say this is quite the amazing series. Definitely worth more than just three episodes per season, but I guess that it has to be done. I'm quite fond of the runtime as it really gives the show a chance to give the full experience.

The ending to the 3rd and final episode was perfect, leaving up to the viewer's interpretation. I think they've ruined that by renewing it for a second series, but that's strictly my opinion as I know loads of fans want more episodes, so fair play.

Reminds me quite a bit of Luther, which is another great "new-wave" detective show from the BBC. Idris Elba from the Wire!

I've wanted to start a thread on this before, but Was unsure how many people have seen it. I had to torrent it only to find out it was made available on netflix the following week. :-o

I've been a fan of the books for a while, so I was excited as hell when my friend showed me the previews for this.

At first I wasn't too keen on the way they portrayed Watson and Holmes' relationship, it a bit different from the book, but by the middle of the 1st episode, I liked that difference. I like the writing as well, they're 90 minute episodes but don't really feel like they're dragging. I'm a fan.

Benedict Cumberbatch is a great Holmes.

They've confirmed another 3 episode season to come out, and Moffat gave a few hints "Hounds, Adler. ." and something else I can't remember. Looking forward to it.

I seem to be extremely late to the party but after finally getting around to watching Sherlock I was hooked. At first I didn't know how they would be able to pull it off in a modern setting but it turned out to be a great idea. Just finished watching the last episode and now I'm waiting in eager anticipation of the third series coming out in 2013. Might finally use my Sherlock Holmes app on my iPhone and read all of the books.... Or actually buy physical copies of them so I don't go blind.

Sherlock is boss. I've really never been disappointed by Moffat yet, except maybe some of the latest Doctor Who, but whatever. Point is, it's a good show. My only complaint is the "movie-length" episodes, make it a bit more difficult to watch without setting aside some serious time.

I really enjoy it being that long, allows for the plot to be really fleshed out and paced excellently by Moffar and Gatiss. If this show was only 30 minutes + ads it'd be completely different and more shallow overall product (at least for me) I prefer these 3 paced out episodes over a 12 or 13 series of short episodes
