My brother managed to make like three thousand gold running a dice/casino game in Orgrimmar.

You see, people made bets and then /rolled and if they rolled higher than a 65, they got double their bet back. He did this for like five hours and managed to make three thousand gold appear from his original one hundred and fifty gold.

My hero!

You know, I quit WoW after my 80 DK did little to no damage still after three weeks of grinding dungeons and 9000G in a mace whilst my defence stayed as crappy as it was when I was level 70 even though I have killer gear

I could never get into World of Warcraft for some reason. It's a fun place to explore and build a character, but the quests made me feel more like an errand boy than a warrior. That's my opinion anyway.

I am currently on a WOW-break, to finish off my Master Thesis.

But when I play, you can find me on Dragonmaw EU (English speaking)

Capricorn - Drawven Priest
Tavia - Night Elf Druid
Sagittarius - Night Elf Hunter
Wintersbite - Human Mage
Virgo - Himan Warlock
Cavalon - Draenei paladin

When I get my engineering degree, I will surely return to WOW, but I am also planning on doing some more console gaming, which I have neglected because of WOW.

WoW is like crack, only cheaper, and with a counter that tells you how much of your life you've lost. . .

Great game, but its hard to have the time. Also, when you're away from it for a while, its kind of depressing to go back and feel so behind on the changes. It sucks to load up your old character and learn that all your hard earned gear is not only weak, but also that its useless due to talent changes.

Understanding the World of Warcraft Using Super Mario Brothers:
http://www.cracked.com/blog/understandi ... -brothers/

Quote:
Say you’re about to go up against the sinister Pandemonius and you tell the group, “Just beat on this boss like normal, but stop punching him when he makes a force field of evil electricity.”

To any Super Mario Brother player, the proper response would be, “No shit? Don’t touch the glowing death field? Because I figured I’d drop my pants and back into one of the punishing tendrils of dark energy, asshole.”

To a Warcraft player, the proper response is a confused suicide against the deadly force field. If cows played World of Warcraft, there would be a pile of them dead against the electric fence.

Cow Store: “Good afternoon, Hank’s Cow Store.”

Farmer: “Yeah, goddamn it! You sold me bum cows! Aren’t they supposed to move when the fence shocks them?”

Cow Store: “Absolutely. They didn’t?”

Farmer: “No! They just leaned on it, and slowly fried themselves to death!”

Cow Store: “That’s very unusu- wait. They haven’t been playing World of Warcraft have they? Because Warcraft cows are fucking tards.”

I stopped playing WoW about 6 months ago due to money problems. Now I don't really have a want to play it. That, and my graphics card is only a bit above the recommended requirements. It is has been out dated for awhile now... Cant even play Spore Creature creator demo.

It's weird. I was just talking to a friend about WoW, and... it's like Blizzard is just trying to revamp the whole game, which is cool, but it would be strange to think that Outland would be the "old" content since Azeroth itself will be new. It's also extremely depressing in a sentimentalist sort of way. I experienced levels 1 - 60 in Azeroth a number of times, it's my stomping grounds and home to all my favorite instances and storylines, etc. How much will those things change? What will happen to some of our favorite characters, etc. Will other people (like newcomers to the game) be able to experience a lot of the cool "old" things at all?

It's weird... to have WoW emulate this living breathing world... you just accept that certain things are always going to be the way you left them with a videogame, you never expect to turn your game on and suddenly the entire world grew without you, but MMOs tend to do that, and it's just... weird. Despite how awesome WoW is, it always seems like a lot of these important characters... Illidan, Kaelthas, Arthas, Thrall, Cairne (okay Cairne was never THAT important overall in the context of storyline) they just seem to be getting this... unfair treatment. Illidan & Cairne reduced to raid bosses, Arthas... well... not sure WHAT exactly happened with him yet, but like... the whole thing always made me feel unsettled. It's like... Warcraft 3, and all the novels and such created these wonderful in-depth characters, and if World of Warcraft is going to be some constant canon... it just feels lackluster in terms of storytelling and what not... I don't want to see a bunch of raiders kill Illidan, I want to see Illidan duke it out in some epic battle with his druidic brother, y'know?

I dunno, I just figured I'd do some writing about WoW (something I haven't done in AGES since I've stopped writing in my WoW Blog.) Overall I'm both extremely excited and also deeply saddened to say farewell to the Old Azeroth. I wish there was a way to just preserve Old Azeroth... very rarely in the entertainment business do you lose something... like... films can have remakes, but you can always go back and watch the original if you wanted to. But, with this, the only place this world and environment and all of it's story and characters will exist will be within the history books of Azeroth and WoWWiki.com. Like I said multiple times... it's just WEIRD to see something like this happen, it may be the first time something like this has ever happened in the MMO community/genre.
