I need some help with internet problems.

My main computer which is connected through the internet with a wire is lagging others in my family and I don't know why. We all share internet through a router and such.

What's weird is that my computer didn't do this until today.

So, what I'm asking is; what is causing it to lag others and how can I fix it?

Help would be much appreciated.

Thanks! :-D

first off how many devices connected to your router (and such)? wired and wireless please.

sometimes it's priority porting. certain bandwidth from one pc is being prioritized than others. You either power cycle the damn thing, restore it to default settings or try using a different device and ultimately upgrading

second what is your provider and what is your plan?

reason being, i've been with at&t for a bit now. and what we do sometimes is that when our engineers are fixing certain areas we tend to share peoples bandwidth for a certain period of time. so your 24 mbps might spike down to 10mbps at times. same thing might have happened to you.

Well, the devices that are currently connected to it are:

2 laptops are connected through wireless.
2 desktop computers are connected through wireless.
4 desktop computers are connected through wires.
2 netbooks are connected through wireless.

Our service provider is Sasktel and I'm not sure about our plan.

that's a lot lol without phones and consoles eh? try to power cycle your modem and router, take it down for 15 seconds at least. then reconnect see if that helps.
