Yeah, that was a great twist at the end.

Spoiler
The whole time I was like "Oh no, no, no!" D:

Like jtrov said, though, Braid is well worth it. It's prolly the highest quality XBLA game out there, and given the amount of games, that's saying a lot. It's practically perfect in every way, and even the story is really good. Makes you think just as much as the puzzles do.

Great find, jtrov!

I had my suspicions, and was halfway to that conclusion - but it's great that someone took it upon themselves to write a unified theory for Braid's narrative.

It's a fantastic game. Definitely one of the better gaming experiences I can think of. The story really hooked me, and I like it how Blow really pulls no punches in delivering a fractured, multi-faceted narrative. The player is not spoon-fed, and must read, think and respond with their own interpretation. The final 'reveal' is great not just because of its 'twist', or its emotional impact, but because of its use of game mechanics (as opposed to literary or cinematic methods) as storytelling!

It is just "mind blowing" that so much detail when into this game. Every part of the story in some way intertwines with how the puzzles are structured and it isn't until the last stage and epilogue where you really go "holy shit, how did they pull it off".

I just still can't get over how clever the story was written. Just fucking amazing, easily the best game of this summer.

Braid is a masterpiece of a game, the puzzles are truly out of this world and very ingenious indeed ( ooo i said indeed ) it's worth every penny in my opinion and i think everyone should definitely give it a try. i am currently in the 4th world and my only scare is that the game looks like it's going to end soon which would make it a very short game indeed ( ooo i said it again, the sophistication of my language is astounding loool  ) other than that the game is truly awesome.

check it out if you get the chance.

You know, my brother(he's 21) came up to me earlier today and asked ,"did you get any new games for your 360?"and I said,"no, but I downloaded a few demos, you totaly gotta check out this game Braid it's awesome"
Now, he's not exactly a big fan of videogames, but he wanted to try it out. So I turned on the 360, started the game up and gave him the controller. He got to the indoor area where the levels are and had no idea what to do, it's like 'hello' there's only one room/door surrounded by light! go in,duh.

Anyways, so he started playing the level, and immediatly just by looking at the colorful dreamy fantasy water painting-like graphics(which are amazing) and brilliant soundtrack, he gives me this dirty look and said,"are you kidding me?, this is GAY, i don't like this, it's too colorful, the music's really gay, what the hell..." And he had no idea what to do in the game and once he got to the Puzzle board and noticed that you have to put together a puzzle he laughed as if it were some kids game(sigh*)....unbelievably pathetic. seriously, it's anything but. He then bitched because i didn't have any first person shooters...lol ya i know, simpled minded, immature and stupid come to mind. but he's also into the whole gangster baller rap shit, so i'm guessing it's only cool to play games with 'guns'

it's like he has the mind of 15 year old :uhh: :zombie: A perfect example of teenagers that are close minded, yet he's 21 :-?

I downloaded the game yesterday and today I got it solved.

The last stage left my jaw on the floor. Just breathtaking.

Edit:... wait... you can collect stars?
