In anticipation of the release of Gears 3, there will be XP event weekends starting today until mid-September.
So if any of you have Gears 2 and haven't become a Veteran Gear yet, then now's your chance to grind up to level 100 with relative ease.

This weekend's XP multiplier is 5x and it will be increasing by 5 for the next 5 weeks, so the last weekend will be 25x

I'll be playing a lot of Gears 2 trying to level up so if anyone wants to join me my gamertag is mscupcake91

I really should try to get back into Gears. Thing with Gears 2 is they didn't start the leveling system until a couple months after the game was already out and most people had moved onto other titles. I'm pretty rusty at the multiplayer, but I am always down for Horde (not sure what the best way to level is.)

It would be cool to get a GH Gear group going since Gears 3 has 4p campaign, tower defense horde, and beast mode.

I think the fastest way to level is playing either Guardian or Wingman since playing Horde only nets you about 100xp or so after each round.

Tried it last night and got about 750 a round. Most rounds are under 2 mins at least until grinders start showing up.

Yeah, with the XP boost you get that much playing on normal or hardcore, but playing any VS playlist will net you at least 2000 or more.

What do you unlock in Gears by leveling up?

If you reach level 100 in Gears 2 you unlock gold weapons in Gears 3 along with special titles and medals

I forgot to post last weekend, but this weekend is 15x multiplier until Monday featuring Wretches with Torque Bows in Horde which is just as insane as it sounds. I'll be playing all weekend so if you see me online feel free to join!
