Well some of you know that my 360 shit out on me the other day. So I went out today to get a new one. I just want a 360, 250GB HD slim. Thats it. I remember seeing them all over the place. I look online on a few store's websites and they have them there. So I head out..... 5 hours, 12 phone calls and 7 stores later I come back with NOTHING!

They apparently have discontinued making the 360 of any size without the Kinect. You have to get it now with the 4GB and 250GB models. I found a few non Kinect bundles for the 4GB model, but I dont fucking want that. I have enough problems with the one I have now trying to keep it under 20GB.

Anyways this is a really really shitty marketing plan from Microsoft. Im not impressed at all! I dont want something that Im never going to use and wont be able to sell because there are hundreds of them still on store shelves collecting dust.

Oh and just in case you were curious they had rows upon rows of 360s 250GB models with Kinect every place I went.

This just pisses me off. I was planning on buying the new 250 GB slim model and now I'm gonna have to add what, another hundred bucks for that piece of shit kinect sensor? I'll just end up selling the damn thing for like 50 bucks online.

Seems like a great marketing plan to me. Want a new 360? Tough luck because you are forced to buy a Kinect with it. It will help build a large user base and encourage developers to make games for it because the developers will know that with every new 360 there is a Kinect with it. What better way to force a product on the masses that would probably only otherwise end up in a small fraction of households that have a 360?

And then everyone got a PS3 because the 360 doesn't have many exclusives worth a damn.

I never knew you had a 360 and played all the exclusives Darkseid.

Anyways, I always hated this bundling shit. I remember a time where you had to get Lego Indiana Jones and some racing game with every 360, and some stores used to bundle a bunch of crappy peripherals in the Wiis heyday. The more barriers you put between me and the product I want the less likely I am to buy it at all.

I mean the big selling exclusives for the 360. Sure, it has some amazing stuff like Lost Odyssey, but the majority of it's most popular titles are on the PS3 as well. Halo isn't quite the powerhouse it once was and the 360 doesn't have anything else that popular that would get most people to get another if they could get a PS3 without the Move.

I just looked on Amazon and they're still selling the standalone 250GB Slim 360. So, I don't know if you just live in an unfortunate area, but they also sell the stand alone slim 250 in my GameStop (not that I would ever buy anything from there) so, I dunno, look harder, or get it from Amazon

how much is the 250 gig hard drive? would it be cheaper to buy one with kinect or maybe buy the 4g stand alone and upgrade the hard drive?

also yea, maybe consider buying it online.

Please don't suggest that people play C&C on a console. Just don't. Not to mention most of those are PC games anyway.

Anyway- Great move by Microsoft to force the Kinect into more households, as much of a dick move it is, though it's just as easy to imagine most of those making their way back to Gamestop.

Dead Rising 2 is on the PS3 as well, Crackdown isn't very popular, Command and Conquer came from PC and Fable is losing it's popularity with each release.

To clarify, I like all these games, but they aren't enough for the majority of people nowadays to stay exclusive to the 360.

Also, remember the majority are idiots.

EDIT: Mass Effect is on the PS3 now last I heard.

....Dead Rising was on the X-Box Koari, not the 360.

I don't know which is worse, perpetuating the console war angle, the relatively lackluster list of 360 'exclusives' (There's better, actual exclusives!), or thinking Dead Rising was on regular Xbox.

Each console has it's pros and cons and 4+ years after their release most people have both anyway.

Hmmm...I wonder how I got those achievements in it then.
