Now, I've been busy fighting the man on and off for the past month and working a nine to five... but I did preorder the uber special awesome edition of Uncharted 3. I was thinking about getting two so I can have two Drake statues to make them kiss and I can watch and giggle like a little girl. The shame of it is, I'll probably only get a chance to play it for a couple of hours this week.

I am so pumped! Who else preordered?

I'd love to preorder, but I already have Skyward preordered and I'm saving for Saints Row Three.

I am happy that the game is coming out though.

I'm currently playing through the first two Uncharted games. I didn't think I would like it just because of the simplicity of the gameplay, but the story is really good. I'm hooked!

Really excited about this game. I love the two first games in the series. Which was a surprise to me since Im somewhat of a "PC elitist" when it comes to shooters.

I've bothering my local game shop about this game for the last couple of days. I'll do anything to get my copy at this point.

Dude! Uncharted 3 is amazing so far. The melee combat has become more intuitive and more based on timing rather than combos.... also it feels like Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade in the beginning.

And the super special edition is ginormous! The belt buckle is totally becoming part of my everyday dress.

EDIT:

Ok, made it to France. I gotta say, this one has a lot more lulls in the action than the other two, but I kinda like it. It is kinda more of the same, but the enemies are way smarter. They will seek you out and come to your cover instead of lining up like targets at a shooting range. It got annoying at first because you'll be in cover, getting a bead on a guy, and then you'll start getting hit from the side. I've learned to check my corners constantly every time I pop into cover. Lots more shotgunners this time around too. British people do not fuck around. O_o

No islanders in Bermuda shorts and sun hats or Slavic mercs in this game... so far.

So far, it's on par with Uncharted 2. The writing improved quite a bit. The witty exchanges of dialogue are really movie quality. The game feels like if Guy Ritchie directed an Indiana Jones type movie. Though, there really hasn't been a WOW moment that really sets it apart from Uncharted 2 yet...

Spoiler
Ok, that spider thing in the chateau underground weird. I hope the supernatural enemy of this game isn't spider people or Katherine turns out to be a spider or something like that... that would be really really lame. I fear I may be on the right track. :-(

I am waiting for xmas for this one, as much is Uncharted is my favourite series by far on the PS3 there were other games that just edged Uncharted 3 and I decided I'd buy myself 2 games before xmas and the others leave for gifts.

My choice was Skyrim and Batman Arkham City.

So I'm at the tail end of Syria and there still hasn't been much to make this stand out from the other two games. I guess there isn't much tension story wise because Drake's motive so far has been unclear. I guess he's after treasure and all, like the last two games, but there is no damsel in distress so to speak. I'm guessing that will change as soon as I finish Syria. Also, this game is totally following Last Crusade right now with finding the knight's tombs, the immortal man, the secret order of knights. All it needs are Nazis and bam, it's Indiana Jones.

I dunno, I like this game so far, but it's just ok when compared to the last two. I haven't hit any sections yet that make me instantly want to go back and play again like Uncharted 2.

Also, I swear to god, if I have to fight a giant spider in this game I'm going to be so pissed

I almost bought a PS3 yesterday so I could play this. I decided against it because I have MW3, Skyrim, and Super Mario 3D Land coming out next week so I figured I'd better wait. Looks awesome though!

Is the games creator or lead designer a huge Indiana Jones fan? The game just screams like it's from that Genre. All we need is Drakes dad in the fourth one and it will be complete. This is not a bash on the game at all as Indiana Jones crushes everything in it's path. Star Wars and Back to the Future are it's bitch.

I'm with you. Just finished the game.

Spoiler
Unfortunately the story never grabbed me. The level design, set pieces, events, graphics, etc were the best I've seen, but I did not enjoy it as much as UC2. I played it on hard thinking if I do that then I will earn all the money I need to buy the awesome cheats, like use any gun or even fat Drake, but nope. No cheats this time around. That was disappointing.

It was still fun. Got a chuckle a few times. To me, it didn't quite live up.

So I just finished the game too.

Yeah, it didn't live up to 2... but I was thinking, what really can? To me, Uncharted 2 is as close to a perfect game as you can get in not only it's concept and execution but also in how it changed my perception of what a video game could be. Nothing can live up to Uncharted 2 in my mind. Uncharted 3, however, was a different game to be honest. It felt more... dark and violent. I can't really explain it. The game just feels like Drake's low point in his life. People are questioning his motivation and really trying to convince him to give up and even in the desert settlement before Salim shows up Drake is saying things like "I can't do this anymore."

The writing, directing, and acting was some of the best I've seen in a video game. If Uncharted 3 was made into a movie instead a game, it would have easily been an instant classic.

Not as good as 2 overall, but still amazing.

I want to play this game and I want to play it now! Beat Batman, beat MW3's story mode and am trying to get motivation to start BF3's story (which will probably only take me an afternoon to beat...) and then... I have nothing new to play and I want my Uncharted fix! I think my girlfriend is getting it for me for xmas if not buddy buddy for sure is, but I can't wait that long!

Yep, it was patched just the other day I believe. Well I guess that's a good thing for me!

The game was alright, but not exactly great. It shows that their current working method is flawed. The story is a mess, but extremely well written. The gameplay is solid on its own, but the levels themselves are a horrible mess. Especially the chambers filled with waves upon waves of goons and little to no way to maneuver outside of being a reckless ass.

Also, the multiplayer needs work.
