While I agree that this is awesome, some of the mechanics just don't seem right. Enemies either appear too soon or too late, piranha plants stay up for way too long, Samus shouldn't turn into a ball immediately, and running Mario over pits isn't as safe as it should be. The Mario thing bugs me the most as I have wasted so many lives trying to run over pits I would normally skip over in the real game.

Exactly. Though I managed to cut it close with Samus. So how many times did you fall down the pit while trying to run over it?

I've beaten the game with Mega Man but 8-3 is nigh impossible with him cause he's soooooooo slow.

I'm going to try a Samus only in the morn... but I have little confidence that will go well :shy:

Samus is prolly the best all around character, really. She has the easiest to control jump, and her wave beam is almost as good as the spread gun.

Plus if you rescue the princess in her Justin Bailey outfit something special happens.

Beat it with Simon. 8-1 was tough because you just had to gogogo. If I slowed down at all I would have never made it to the flagpole in time. 8-3 wasn't too bad though, the axe made short work of the hammer bros.

Doesn't look like the guy did. At least, I can't seem to recreate it like normally, since the screen can scroll backwards in this game.

The only character this game is lacking is like... Icarus and maybe Alex from River City Ransom and/or one of the Dragon Twins.

Considering that he's the only character that can run, you need him for when levels, like 8-1 only have 300 seconds
