SMB Crossover is everything that is great about indy development and the ROM hack scene. It's also a testament to the staying power of the classic era. For instance, Snake in Smash Bros. kind of warrants a *yawn* response from me, whereas I'm jumping up and down in excitement when I see something like Ryu Hayabusa or SOPHIA in the original Mario.
