is there some sort of shortage of this game? looking online at sites like ebay and the like I am seeing it for 65 - 100 bucks, seriously? for real? I thought this shit was 50 bucks new with the wheel?

http://cgi.ebay.com/Mario-Kart-Wii-Used ... 4295.l1318 here it is used for 89.99.

I can maybe see if there is some massive shortage of the game, but if not, people need to put down the crack pipe.

one last semi related side note - what the hell is up with wii sports selling for 35 dollars + ? I may have to get rid of my copy if I can get that much for it.

:zombie:

I dont know, but our local game store had 5 copies on the shelves as nobody seems to be buying them. Its a small store, so thats probably all they had gotten. Our town console is the 360, almost every kid in high school and the families have one. Followed by the wii and ps3, so we never have a shortage of those. Wiis we may have a shortage of, as they only get 2 or so at a time, and thats every 2 weeks. XD

Ive figured out the secret to getting games and systems that are sold out everywhere. Just go to Wal Mart at like 2am. Thats it. They stock shit at 2am and just ask if they have it. I got Mario Kart there and then went back the next day at noon to get something out and they were sold out of them at 8am they said.

I guess there is a sort of Mario Kart Wii shortage since it is not being sold on Amazon. I'll have to look in my local stores to see if I see any copies of the game, but I think I remember seeing one at Target last time I was there. I already have a copy so I'm set.

As for Wii Sports, I'm guessing the price on that has to do with people breaking or losing their copy and wanting a new one. After all, it isn't available in stores and Nintendo doesn't even sell them online. I'm going to e-mail Nintendo for an answer just to see what they.

I'll also ask about Mario Kart. It may be like DDR Mario Mix where they sold it for a few weeks and will sell it again later. Or it could be that it is selling really well which it is.

I have MKW, and it's really overrated. After trying so hard to get it, you will be seriously disappointed at this game. The Gamecube Mario Kart was a lot more fun, stick to that.

Sadly enough, I have to agree. MKW was a major disappointment for me, but it still was alot of fun to play.. it just isn't of the same standard as previous installments in the series.

And I find the Wii situation in North America pretty funny.. over here (Western Europe) they give Wii consoles with pretty much everything :P

Well I actually did get an answer from Nintendo. There is a MKW shortage and you can get a replacement Wii Sports disc for a possible fee via calling Nintendo. Maybe someone should tell the people on Ebay...

yea i had a bit of trouble getting my copy i had gone to just about every game store around me and most of the larger chains (target wal-mart best buy). it seemed next to impossible to get thanks to Nintendo strict policy of under production and people who buy in demand Wii games to re-sell on ebay for profit (Ex Mikey and Wii fit if i recall) all adds up to ether a hard search or buying at a premium. my copy came from some amazon store that had a copy which i got for around 60 dollars i don't relay know if that was over priced or not i was just happy to see it for sale rather than sold out.
