Anyway, this is supposed to be a PS3 topic. So... uh... omg ps3 suxxorz mah ballzorz >_>

Whoa, hold the phone. That game is on the Wii? Get outta here. I played that for PS2, and I was like this would own on the Wii. I think I'll have to retract my statement. I'm not even a DBZ fan, but I would buy that game for the Wii.

It's fucking epic on Wii! After figuring out the motion controls, there's no way I would ever want to go back to a traditional controller.

Quote:
Back on the PS3 track... another thing I have to mention is how people are berating it because a lot of their games require you to install a few gigs of info on your hard drive... is it really that big of a deal? That's just as bad as complaining about having to install a PC game.

Yes, I know we're not used to installing console games, but think about it. Installing games on your hard drive means that your disc drive is working less, and if information is loading off of the hard drive, it'll give you faster load times. That's been proven with DMC4 and GTA4.

There are two problems with installing games on the HDD. Firstly, you shouldn't have to except for the Blu-Ray drive's incredibly slow read speeds. Seriously, is this supposed to be advanced technology?

Second, all of those installations add up. If you only have a 40 GB hard drive and each game you have to install takes up anywhere from 1 to 5 GB of space, there is a limit to the number of games you can have installed at any given time. You should also take into consideration anything you download from the PSN as well.

It's nowhere near as bad as the Wii's 512 MB of internal memory, but it's an issue nonetheless.

I can see where Geoff is coming from.

I don't have much money. I have a Wii. I'm happy with my Wii. There are games on the Wii I can't play on other systems.

If PS3 was affordable, and had some good exclusives on it I'd be more inclined, but as it is I'm happy with my Wii, and would like a 360.

(And for exclusives, even though I know it's going to be an incredible game, MGS games aren't really my type, so all the hype for that means nothing to me.)

Viewing all the current podcasts thus far I think Geoff only owns a Wii since he mentioned he doesn't have a 360, hates the PS3 and says proudly that he has a Mii that looks just like him

I don't want to offend anyone but IMO: Fanboys = Shit
It gets repetitive, and annoying and I just don't get why people care so much about what system is "best".
Plus, all this time wasted flaming can be spent gaming.

Boo for fanboyism on all sides.

Several generations of games have gone by and nothing has changed. Now that Sega games are on Nintendo, are they cool now? I have friends who grew up with Sega and didn't play any of the SNES classics simply because they were fanboys (and their parents didn't buy them a new system, which could be linked...hmm...). They discovered Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy, Metroid, Zelda, all games that are on pretty much any top 10 games list through the magic of emulation (obligatory boo for piracy, etc.)

Even those who sided with Nintendo in that generation missed out on things like Sonic and Final Fight. Sure the Game Gear ate so many batteries that your parents stopped you from playing just so they could put food on the table but it was in colour and you could play in the dark under your blankets where the monsters can't get at you.

Fanboys missed out on Banjo-Kazooie's unique humor, memorable levels and fun gameplay when the series made its debut on the N64. Now the Nintendo fanboys, who originally enjoyed the series will now miss out on the sequel.

Each system has its own experiences to offer. Each with its own memorable moments. Remember that this is about gaming and not about how big our joysticks are. You have fun playing games and making them a part of your life - your memories. You don't want to be 60 and finally play a Legend of Zelda and wonder why you stayed away from it all your life. Don't let fanboyism close doors - at least give everything a chance before bashing it and spouting off statistics.

And if you still want to be a fanboy? Flame the hell out of each other. It doesn't get any where, but it makes for good entertainment and funny pictures usually result.

Wow this thread got derailed quickly.

If you notice in my original, and subsequent posts, I didn't go into all of the fanboy jargon, spewing one-liners of hatred on the 360 or Wii. In my opinion there's no need to do so as both have their pluses and minuses just like the PS3.

The point of the original post was to point out to people that Geoff was spreading misinformation about the Limited Edition Metal Gear Solid IV PlayStation . From that there were maybe 3 responses about that. Mickey, coming in and saying that Geoff was "gonna tear this thread a new one" was funny seeing as Geoff was the one who was wrong in the first place.

Yeah, I didn't get how did they misinterpret the word "deposit" as even when I went to school and paid a "deposit" (non-refundable in this case) which ended up going towards my tuition instead of straight into the Dean's pocket
