For those that got the special edition it's time to redeem your codes for Jill and Shuma Gorath. Those that don't have the code to redeem you can still buy them with regular ms points or add money to your PSN wallet.

Not especially, although it kind of borders. Maybe if it was a dollar cheaper. 2.50 a character seems a little too cheap to me. On the downside though, the 10 bucks you're gonna spend on characters could have easily gone to getting that Collector's Edition of the game with the characters and a bunch of other goodies.

Yeah, I hear this isn't the first time Capcom has fucked over fans with DLC.

I I hadn't bought the Special Edition, I probably wouldn't have bothered with Jill and Shuma. They just seem uninteresting to me.

I personally would have set the DLC at $2.50 or $3 each, and have it at $5 for a 2 pack.

With so many characters that I want to try, I'm completely fine without DLC for now. I'll wait for a discount or something. The only DLC I want is a Spectator Mode and Replay Mode, which should be free. I certainly know that none of us want to watch two cards with reducing health until it's our turn in a group. :err:

spectator mode would be nice, and I do believe they were actually gonna put it in, but some reason or another it didn't work out.

I don't mind paying five bucks for a new character. I would like to pay less, of course, but given that it's, ya know, an all new character to play with, I'm more forgiving.

I don't see myself ever paying five bucks just to change a few characters costumes though.

Resident Evil original outfits. That's the only thing I could see myself paying money for, especially to eliminate Blonde Ninja Jill.

I'm on the same boat with you, Link. The way I could see myself pay for costumes is for Jill, because I despised her in RE 5 (which I originally mistook for Sherry (which would have made more sense)). But then again, she doesn't look anything near interesting as her MvC 2 counterpart, and she just looks boring and unappealing. So I see no point in buying a uniform for someone who I'm not interested in playing as (which is ironic, because she was my favorite character in MvC 2).

And I think something must have gone wrong in the testing for spectator mode not to be in the game, because it's odd for it to be in most Capcom fighters this generation, but not this one. Hopefully there is a download for it in the future.

I would mind, considering that they were announced as DLC BEFORE the game was released. Either, put them on the disk (where they should have been from the beginning) or make the package free.

yeah, they obviously planned for spectator mode, but for whatever reason it didn't work out.

This is a tired argument. Those characters were incentive bonuses (given for free) to those who bought the Collector's Edition. People who didn't buy the Collector's Edition shouldn't get them for free. How does this not make sense to people?

I think $10 for a package that included 4 characters + alternate costumes + shadow fights would have been a little more reasonable.

Everyone knows Capcom is awful at DLC. But I imagine this one gets a pass because many have already pre-paid for Jill and Squidman due to getting the special edition. They are pretty much C list characters, I imagine they are holding back the good stuff.

When Frank West, Mega Man, or Venom come out, people will throw down money for them no question.

After playing with Jill and Shuma, I'm glad I at least got them for getting the CE version. Jill sucks if you ask me. Shuma is ok, not a character I'd use but the fact that he's the only charge character in the whole game is cool.

It came this morning, and after about an hour of so of playing, I absolutely love this game. So far, my new favorites are X-23, Joe, Dante, Deadpool, and Amaterasu. And I actually really like Chun Li in this game.

The only downside is that they screwed up my order and I didn't get the comic book, the codes for Jill and Shuma, and the subscription. They said they'll fix it, so I'm going to have to wait to try out the DLC.

And one question. How come Capcom hasn't put Dr. Strange yet? Isn't it odd that two of the characters of that universe are in the game, but not the title character?

from what I heard it's because dr. strange isn't known for getting physical. Capcom and Marvel have both put a lot of care into making their characters faithful adaptations and it really shows (especially with people like Haggar). I wouldn't count him completely out though.

You have a point there. One other thing I like about the way the characters got handled was how all of them feel different from each other and all have their strengths. A lot of people complained that MvC 2 had much more characters, but most of them were just sprites ripped out of the older games, were near copies of each other, or were flat out terrible. I'm sure there's a small percentage of people who want to play as Roll or Servebot.

I also love the dialog the characters share in the game. Deadpool's are my personal favorite. Though the modes and extras are light, Capcom put a huge chunk of work in the core gameplay and characters.
