Played through Dawn of Sorrow over the last week. Enjoyed it quite a bit. I have the other two DS Castleroids but might save them for another time.

Tried playing Kirby and Warioware but I dunno they really don't hold my attention for long.

Booo! J/k, I know the feeling. Bought a new car in the fall so I know what it's all about. Waiting for my girlfriend to get her new laptop and when she does I'm picking up Diablo. Thank god for Future Shop's trade in two games get it free.

Finally beat the Witcher 2. Great game! Took the Bioware conversation/choice system a step further being less about good/evil or badass/good guy and made them more of a grey area which shaped how the game played out. I need to play it a second time to try and see the rest of the content I missed! But Diablo has me hooked right now...

Beat Metal Gear Solid 2. I enjoyed a lot more after beating Fatman and now I like it just as much as the first one. It had really good gameplay and I really liked Raiden and Rose's dialog. And the last 2 hours was super trippy. And the ending almost made me teary with

Spoiler
Raiden and Rose. I am a sucker for those types of endings.

Great game. Now I move to Snake Eater.

I just bought Kingdoms of Amalur Reckoning. I'm not a fan of the art style, I prefer the dark gritty look of western RPGs like Skyrim and Darks Souls. Kingdoms of Amalur is just too whimsical and magical.

Aside from that, the gameplay is awesome. It plays very well, but still not as good as Darks Souls. I know I bring up Darks Souls a lot, but that's because it's just a great RPG. Seriously, for those of you still on the fence, it's not that hard, go ahead and pick it up already!

:-D

I want to try Dark Souls as it looks like some old-school fun. Only problem is I have Diablo and Skyrim to beat still... I might pick it up if I can find it for $20.

I picked up Sunset Riders (SNES) and Parasite Eve (PS1) this afternoon as my gaming stats are now officially maxed out. I have 255 games.

I finally beat Snake Eater today and though I've never really showed any emotions towards games, I cried at the ending. The part that got me the most was either when:

Spoiler
you finish off The Boss and all her dialog surrounding it.

or

Spoiler
Eva's monologue and the scene in the cemetery. I got even more teary eyed when Snake saluted The Boss' grave and a tear ran down his eye.

I really loved it and the gameplay and story were just perfect for me. But that ending drained me emotionally. The credit music didn't help either. I really can't rank the games in the series in terms of preference because each of them had something that made it stand out. 1 had the memorable characters and battles, 2 had an intense refinement and a really trippy ending, and 3 had the amazing ending and boss battles. I really can't wait to pick up 4 and given my astonishment with the series so far, I expect it to be great. Despite being 3 games in, the series so far is easily in my top 5 games.

finished Mass Effect 3 last night. I'm not sure what the fuss is about the ending. When the "little boy" gives you the choice or either destroying the Reapers by destroying the power coupling, (the "red" choice, considering that it was colored red), or controlling the Reapers (I think that it was the "blue" choice, not really sure), I chosed to put a few bullets in the power coupling. However, it wiped everything out, so to speak, and it showed a clip of a door on the wrecked Normandy opening up. The credits roll, and there's a small clip of a child talking to his grandfather about Shephard and how he would like to hear another story about him. Am I missing something?? It's not that great of an ending, but it does suffice. Humanity survives, and through both games (I haven't played the first one yet), I (Shephard) fought for humanity's survival against the Reapers. So in the end I did win, but at a cost. I guess I'll just have to playthrough it again and see and make a different choice, see if i missed anything.

@Ehsan: MGS3 is the only numbered MGS game I haven't played yet. I'm going to do that up in the coming weeks.

@Capt Chuckles: The ME3 ending didn't bother me that much either, but to be fair I finished the game a week or two after most people so my expectations were extremely low. I would just like some more clarity on what was going on in the ending, and I assume that Bioware was planning on doing that in either DLC or in a sequel/new game in the series.

On a gaming note, I haven't been able to play much due to work/personal reasons but when I have I've been playing nothing but Diablo 3. Beat normal difficulty and half way through nightmare. So, so good...

That is impressive!

My friend's little brother is/was probably the best gamer I know. He doesn't game much anymore because he is married, but he could never beat Tyson. He tried for days and days to beat that bastard and he just never could beat him.

For me, Soda Popinski haunts my dreams and I can't get Bald Bull's laugh out of my psyche.

To put it simply, the second I beat MGS 3, I wanted to play through it again, which I will once I go through MGS 4 (which I haven't played much of).

It arguably has the best system in the series and plays wonderfully. There are so many ways you can get through the enemies and each way is satisfying and fun. For example, I go and slit a guy's throat and put him on the ground, along with a remote explosive. I start knocking on the wall and a person near by starts walking towards the sound and sees the dead body. When he starts investigating, I set off the explosive and stuff their bodies in lockers. Or my personal favorite douchebag moment being to stick explosives on doors and knock on them. The guards will open the door and get blown up and flying out of the building. :teehee:

And the story is awesome too.

As soon as I get tired of Diablo and finish Goldeneye: Reloaded MGS3 will have all my time.

Btw MGS4 is good, but long winded. Get ready for really, really long cutscenes. I used 3 days of vacation a few years ago to play through the game and I needed every single one to get through it and the long cinematics.

Never played Xenosaga so I have no idea. I have to say though the final fight in MGS4 was perfect. Hit the perfect note in a way to end the series and the interchanging music from all the games was a great touch.

Once you get through those games, definitely play MGS 3. As far as the controls go, they're as good as they can get. And the entire jungle environment is really great and a breath of fresh air. I can go for pages on how everything is so awesome, but I'll save my breath and let you see for yourself.

And I don't think I'll mind the cutscenes too much. I really like the story of the series, so I'm sure I won't get too annoyed at the length of the scenes. My only qualm right now isn't so much the game's fault, but the fact that I'm way too used to the older MGS controls, which makes me mess up a lot. I'm sure it'll get easier after I play some more. Also, it depresses me that I'm playing as an old man Snake because I know that he'll be dead after the game, which makes me even sadder because I love Snake.

Well I beat Diablo 3 on nightmare and started hell difficulty... sweet lord does it get 1000% tougher! Think I may take a break from the game for a little while. Might play the Batman games again, Goldeneye: Reloaded, MGS3 or back into Skyrim... so many choices!
