Very impressive Fox. I remember renting that game and beating it when I was a kid. I need to find it again because that was really fun!

I beat two games tonight and one of them was one of my proudest gaming achievements.

The other game I beat was Magical Tetris Challenge on the N64. That is a really fun game and a blast to play with other people. If you are looking for a unique Tetris game, I wouldn't hesitate to pick it up. A great game!

But, the more important game came a bit later. It stands next to my other proud gaming achievements in completing San Andreas(I hate you, Supply Lines) and beating Yiazmat in Final Fantas XII(8 Straight Hours!).

I beat Contra...without the Konami Code! XD

All those times of playing it with 30 lives really paid off as I was studying and learning the levels. I finally put all of my knowledge and homework to the test tonight. It finally paid off though it took all of my continues, I was finally able to beat the game. Oh, it is oh so sweet!

Gratz on beating it without the code. Time for a no death run? XD

Speaking of Contra, I was out of town and picked up some retro stuff:
Contra Force (NES)
RC Pro AM II (NES)
Lagoon (SNES)
Legend of the Mystical Ninja (super famicon)
Legend of the Mystical Ninja (n64)
Snowboard Kids 2 (n64)

Beat the main story in Arkham City on PC. Playing some GTAIV on PC now but I might also play some Arkham Asylum as well to bide my time until Borderlands 2 comes out... did I mention I can't wait for that game?

We'll do a "cool kids only" gameday with the cool kids who own GTA IV on PC!

Sorry Crono, I know I said I'd be available tomorrow during the day for some PC multiplayer but I've now been called up to do manual labour at my family's cottage. Gotta cut grass, cut some branches and fix the floor in the outhouse... loads of fun... If it rains tomorrow then there will be no point in going up, so fingers crossed...

I should be online sometime Sunday night if that works for you.

That's fine with me ... I was coordinating with Ms. Cupcakes, also, though.

Now we have both this and Xenoblade, neither of which have been out of the shrink wrap yet. I've been chomping at the bit for this to get released. Has only been delayed about 6 times.

Now all that's left is Pandora's Tower, Disaster Day of Crisis, Fatal Frame 4, Another Code R, Earth Seeker, Soul Eater: Monotone Princess, amongst others. :P

Sometimes, I think NOA is holding easy to release stuff back to help keep Wii afloat for another year or something. But maybe that's me hoping.
In any case, I did grab Last Story today, Soundtrack and all. Looking forward to it ... but I've got a massive pile of games to finish first.

Last Friday night, I saw the special edition of 'The Last Story' and it made my JRPG sense tingle. Even though I don't have a Wii, Last Story and Xenoblade look like freaking amazing games. I know my friends have one and they want both of them, so at least I can hear/see how awesome those games are.

For me, I beat Toe Jam & Earl on the Sega Genesis tonight.

That game was one of the original games that I wanted on the Genesis when it came out back in the day. My friend at the time had it and we had so much fun exploring the levels together. It is such a nice change of pace game and a blast to explore each level. At the time, it was a bit underrated, but it has been shining in the spotlight recently and completely worth it.

A great buy for anybody who owns a Genesis and wants a fun evening of exploration.

The thing that annoys me about TJ and Earl is the presents are a total cr@pshoot. Most help but you never know if it is something you need right now. Also some contain enemies and one kills you instantly. The game is pretty long, you don't get many lives, some of the enemies are relentless, you have to spend a lot of time combing over levels, and falling can send you back several levels. This game was one tough SOB.

Finally got around to beat Bastion. Don't know why it took me so long, the game is all kinds of kick ass!

Since the last time I updated, I did beat Portable Ops, Peace Walker, and Code Veronica HD. I liked Portable Ops quite a bit, despite the controls being hard to get used to. The story was pretty good too and kind of linked the ideas about the origins of Outer Heaven to Big Boss. Peace Walker was awesome too. Probably the longest MGS and the controls worked really well, though I still prefer MGS 3's control style. Plus, it gave me the ability to create a pink Metal Gear. :teehee: Also (MGS 4 spoilers)

Spoiler
when I first played MGS 4 I never really understood why Big Boss had to bring up the boss when he was expressing how she was right, until I saw the ending of Peace Walker. Also, the scene where Big Boss threw away his headband into the ocean after feeling betrayed made me a bit sad. ANd Big Boss' speech about Outer Heaven at the end was especially haunting.

Code Veronica HD was awesome and the ending bits were among the best of the game. I'm so glad that I stocked up on grenade rounds and my other strong weapons, because the last parts are relentless. One chase scene in particular was nearly impossible because you got hit 99% of the time and it took away a giant chunk of health. Overall, I think I may have preferred it over RE 4, but didn't like it as much as RE 1-3. The story was good (by Resident Evil standards) and the gameplay was really fun, but it was a shame that they completely ignored the progressions RE 3 made, like dodging, shooting special objects (granted there were some, but not mapped to R2 like RE 3 did), weapon mixing, etc. Also, Steve is incredibly annoying. So yeah. Those are the games I beat over the last 2 months or so.

Also, I started playing God Hand in my spare time. The game is all kinds of amazing.

The later enemies just become cheap and mean. I cannot tell you how many times I got hit by the ice cream truck and then lost half of my health. You cannot out run them as you just have to dodge, wait or hope for them to not hit you.

Tonight, I beat The Duel: Test Drive II.

For a DOS port to the consoles, it really isn't too bad. It is incredibly archaic, but it's not too bad.

Beat Portal 2 on PC and not working through Arkham Aslyum on PC as well. Of course I plan on getting 100% of everything in the game because that's what I do.

I traded in some games I don't like, accessories I never use and repeats of games for some more games. It was an even trade, so I didn't have to pay a penny for them. I would say it is a pretty good haul for almost free.

- NBA JAM (Genesis)
- ToeJam & Earl in Panic On Funkotron (Genesis)
- Yoshi's Story (N64)
- Tetris Attack (Super Nintendo)
- Killer Instinct (Super Nintendo)
- Illusion of Gaia (Super Nintendo)
