SF3 Was half price a few days ago so I bought it and I'm having a blast! Been playing a lot with Daigo and I've been finding it a lot easier to get the hang of it than SFIV.
Has anybody else got this great game? I could always use more people to practice with

It was half price on XBLA? Man, PSN barely gets any good deals.

Also, if you want to annoy people on XBLA, just spam the heck out of Chun Li's poke.

I have to say, that basketball bonus round really helped me with parrying, I've managed to complete all but 2 of the parrying trials so far.

I can mostly parry projectiles while fighting but suck at it with everything else. It really takes a lot of patience to get it down. And I'm guessing you like Yun judging by your avy. I personally prefer Yang, mostly because I think his outfit is cooler.

I'm stuck on the Daigo parry combo, the parry is okay, it's just getting the combo right afterward... I can't remember the other one right now
I'm better with Yang, but I love Yun's taunt a lot so I've been trying to use him more.

Street fighter 3rd strike is pretty awesome, but as with all fighting games... I suck with the trials

Tell me about it. The only fighter I can do okay with the trials is MvC 3, where I managed to get to 6/10 trials for everyone, with a few at 7/10.


I'm pretty mediocre when it comes to punishing in Third Strike and IV, which is why I usually just settle with a throw or super.

My two personal favorite taunts are Dudley and Ibuki's, mostly because you can use them as an attack. That lets me troll my friend by KOing him with a rose when fighting him.

Third Strike will be going for $10 for PSN users until the 23rd. I might pick it up myself if I have enough money to buy a card, though I won't have time to play it because of school and Skyward Sword (mostly school).

Okay, so I got Third Strike and it's just as great as I remember. But since I use a square gate for my stick, there's some getting used to for combos. I've been playing as Chun Li a lot, and plan to go back to my mains, Ryu, Ibuki, and Makoto.

Also, this was recorded when I just got the game and was relearning everything. I taunted a lot because I was teaching my friend, so I was going easy on him and because I'm a douchebag. And some of the long stretches of us doing nothing was me showing my friend how to pull off certain moves. I did a whole bunch of other matches where I kicked his butt, but I saved the replays when I was playing as Chun Li. Also, I barely played the game during the recordings, so I really sucked.







And this video was me just screwing around and not being a bit serious. I was basically trolling and shouting, "BOOT BOOT BOOT BOOT!" repeatedly while fighting my friend.

Even though I'm the worst 3rd Strike player around, I really enjoy the game. Its so captivating to watch.

Ever since I switched to an Arcade Stick my 3rdS skills just disappeared.

Stick takes a long time to learn and it'll destroy your game completely at first. But do stay with it.

I'd say SF4 might have something to do with your skills disappearing too! No easy inputs in 3rd Strike.

Really? I actually started getting better at IV ever since I started playing Third Strike again. Oddly enough, I can now go into cancelling combos and Ultras, which I was awful at before.

I still suck at Third Strike and forgot how to play the game since it's been years. It may also have to do with my stick being a square gate, which I hate, considering how wonky it feels trying to pull supers and screws me up when I try to punish.


Stick with it (no pun intended). It may seem impossible at first, but once you switch to a stick and get used to it, you never want to go back to a controller (though I still prefer a pad for MvC 3). I got my stick on September and was horrible for a while, but then it all became easier (though I wish I had an 8 button stick for Street Fighter IV). Incidentally, are you using a square gate or an octagonal gate? Since you've been using a controller, you might still be used to the octagonal controls and have more trouble adjusting to a stick.
