Anybody getting theirs tomorrow?

I'm actually going to the preorder event tonight. I hope the snow stops by then, its actually snowing here right now, meaning I gotta shovel my driveway before I leave.

It snowed there too?! Ugh.

Anyway, I can't pick this game up until I get paid somehow. Although, I am very excited and my friend will most likely buy it, thus causing him to come over so we can play. He does it with Marvel vs Capcom 3, so he'll do it with Mortal Kombat. What's not fair about it is that he practices with characters and he gets all the right to taunt.

I got mine a few minutes ago from the Midnight Launch. Its a cool game, but its got some kind of "Kombat Pass" which I think is some kind of "pay to play" thing which you need to actually play the game online, but I think its only for the special online features and not to actually play the game online, but I'm not too sure on that. I'll investigate more into it tomorrow, I'm going to bed in a bit.

No, it's like EA's play pass, you need that key to play online. It's a preemptive measure against used game sales.

So what's with this "48 hour trial" the game says I have when I entered the code in?

You want to know why I love my girlfriend so much? Because she's picking me up a copy after work! Yay Portal 2 and MK in one day!

Getting it on PS3 because I want Kratos as a playable character.

Been playing the game since midnight, it's awesome. I'm still kind of looking for which character I want to continue using though.

Yeah. I'm sure it's them saying, "Sorry for that last game. Here's what should've happened." It is pretty cool to finally see it, since it was removed from MK vs DC, but it is kinda a waste of a Shang Tsung fatality.

Go to Nekropolis in the extras part of the menu, then select Scorpion, it will unlock the fatality and costume. When selecting a character press start to choose a costume. To do his fatalilty press down, up, up, triangle (y on 360 I think).

As for the fatalities, each character does have more than one, you just have to unlock them.

Am I the only one who uses Kratos as opponent during the Fatality training mode every time? Oh man that's very satisfying.

I tend to use Sub-Zero or Kung Lao since their closer. I just got through story mode, pretty good ending and all. I actually kind of want to see the story continue.

ummm... no. First of all I never use training mode for fatalities because they're simply in the move list and haven't really had any issues pulling one off. Secondly Kratos is awesome and is the reason I got the PS3 version.

Also, Capcom take note. This is how you make a story mode in a fighting game. Cheesy, yes. But cheesy in an extremely violent Saturday morning cartoon way.

Actually, Fatalities are all locked except the first one, and the only way to unlock them is to perform them, and once they're unlocked they stay on the character's move list permanently (free tip for those who want to save your koins in the krypt if you want to unlock the costumes first) so unlocking them in fatality practice mode with a fatality list from the web can save you some time.

Also, I personally hated Kratos. I just found it to be a major stress reliever at times just to destroy him. Especially since Neatherrealm decided to make him so overpowered and broken.

So since I beat the Portal 2 single player rather quickly I've been playing MK non-stop all week. Best fighting game I've played in years, and that's and that's without able to play online thanks to PSN being down. Story, while cheesy is actually very good by fighting game standards (take note Capcom). Trying to unlock secret characters in arcade mode can become obsessive and the ladder challenge mode is extremely addictive. Well done Netherealm. You've made me care about playing a fighting game again!

Something I don't get about the gold trophy in the game. Master all the characters. That's a big ambiguous. How do I go about doing that?
