To note: Four Swords and Four Swords Adventures are NOT the same game. And the former is going to be free on DSiWare when it comes out shortly (with online mp)

I was talking about the gamecube one which was a throwback to link to the past but with multiplayer, but I'm guessing a lot of people skipped over it.

Yeah, I figured most people were, but some people are talking about them interchangeably.

Using GBA's for controllers isn't so much a gimmick for Four Swords Adventures, because there are aspects of the game that really couldn't be done otherwise, or that would have hurt the game drastically. Going inside buildings for instance. If you didn't have a separate screen ... either it would have to split or you'd have to notify everyone they have to go into that building ... all of which are poor solutions. It would also destroy part of the competitive aspect of the game (Other players not seeing what you're doing off screen).

A gimmick is something used as a manipulation device to make something standout artificially (depending on context). The only potential gimmick is that it's four player zelda, but Adventures wasn't the first one that did that.

Also, making one for Wii U wouldn't necessarily be impossible. While they still haven't decided how many of those controllers you can use, there is still the DS, DSi, and 3DS for local connectivity and those devices can have the software loaded up on them. It's likely going to be safe to say that if you have a Wii U console, you'll likely have one of those handhelds.

It's sort of annoying ... the gba to gcn connectivity wasn't a bad idea, and it wasn't even because people didn't have a gba, it was those damn cables. They were like $15 each. It wasn't until I found some on the cheap that I utilized it and it was a blast. Now that it's not an issue, and a lot of people who own a Wii also own a DS ... there's no cables they could totally do it ... they completely abandon the idea. wtf, seriously.

Yeah, the cables were the annoying part. I enjoyed the concepts implemented with UI in Crystal Chronicles even despite all the games other flaws.
