Don't worry, I'm trying to think up a creative yet informative name for it.

It wasn't exactly the problem I was trying to fix. It was more so the public opinion being fulfilled. A lot of folks wanted separate sub-forums (probably because they're used to how ScrewAttack does things) and so I gave 'em seperate sub-forums. As I stated in another topic, I admin very closely with the community. I gauge interest in ideas before making any changes on my own. If people DON'T want something to change, then it's not changed, but if enough people speak up, then, change occurs.

Link I would have fought pretty strenuously against this change if I knew it was being planned. However, I was happy with the status-quo (minus stickies and all) and had no reason to talk about the forums...so I didn't come into the 'forum forum' and see that things were about to get changed around.

Regardless of people liking the way Screw Attack does things...ummm...well, A) This isn't Screwattack and B) GameHeroes exists, by historical account, because of a group of people who were dissatisfied with how Screwattack did things. Admittedly these were non-forum related things but you get my parallel.

The biggest point I could make is that we don't have the army of GH's yet that would necessitate such a division of forums. Screwattack is kind of a huge group. The GH community isn't yet as big as their own aspirations.

Anyway, I'm going to consider my point made and let it drop. Just consider this part of the public opinion that is unhappy with the changes.

I say call it media play - media play was an awesome store that sold music books and movies - everything that forum covers.

btw Love the way the forums finaly split, makes it much easier to keep track of and find what your looking for instead of sifting through a shit ton of unrelated posts.

Just because we dont have a bazillion people posting new threads every 30 seconds like certain other sites you mention, doesnt mean we dont have the need to be able to easily organize, and search out information and or threads we are interested in with out having to wade through tons of ones we dont.

:zombie:

I added a poll just to see how many other unhappy folks there are, or if this is just an isolated opinion (not that it isn't valid.) Also, we don't have an army of Henchmen & Sidekicks yet, but we eventually will. Splitting the sub-forums now can't be a bad thing, because we still have a relatively large ACTIVE user base. Honestly, we have as active of a user base as ScrewAttack currently has.

I like the poll but I can already predict how it's going to turn out. People are going to say 'yes I like the subforums' and good for them. Cause a lot of the newer forums are pretty damn good ideas. It's just the needless division of the videogame ones that have bothered me and I think that's the only aspect of the new subforums that are going to bother anybody.

Thanks for taking my criticism in stride though, Link. I don't agree with the decision but I'm happy that I've been heard out.

Hey Link, think we could get a sports sub forum? Just for anything sport related. No baseball/football/football/hockey/basketball/racing/swimming/whatever type of split forum, just one big sports forum. Basically anything that they could show on ESPN, including poker, spelling bees, MMA, and all the main sports. Right now it really only fits in either the soapbox or general chatter but doesn't really fit in either. And with the Summer Olympics it would be nice to have one place to go to b/s about it.

I mean, I suppose sport topics could go under entertainment. But I think a sports only sub forum could have some good traffic. I've already seen that there are quite a few sports fans around these parts. Just a thought. I can't remember if it was a choice in the vote you did a while back, but I think it would still be a good idea. :-)

It was a choice, it was one of the worst recieved in terms of voting. So I didn't bother with adding it. For the time being general chatter is fine.

You had to butcher my thread didn't you. You had to turn good wholesome spam into this abomination.

I am most displeased

Damnit, don't you know that voting isn't about what everyone wants. It's about those who lose somehow finding some way to break the rules so that they still win. Just ask George W. Bush! :yuush:

But seriously, thanks for leaving the option open for the future if there is enough demand.
