I'm usually very very picky about the anime I watch. Anything that remotely hits a sour note I usually will stop watching. Anyway, School Rumble seems to hit so many of those sour notes consistently that I can't stop watching it. It feels like a parody of itself. I guess what I like most about it is that it seems to not take itself too seriously and it really doesn't feel like one of those anime series that really trys to hard at being funny or even good. It seems to be in limbo between being complete crap and being layers of genius all at the same time. It could just be me but I find it sheer stupidity as a whole consistently hilarious. IT'S SO STUPID!!!

It's an anime about school crushes.

I love it. The plot is actually really well thought out, makes for a fantastic comedy of errors following some very stupid people and a few others who have just enough intelligence so that they can point out the stupidity for laughs. BTW, this is the best part of the whole series:
