So little love for mecha....No mention of Tetsujin 28? Space Runaway Ideon? DAITAN 3?! And forget it, I don't think there is a single person in this thread right now that knows what a Brave is.

So MY list is going to go down as follows,
Gun X Sword
GaoGaiGar (New King of Hotbloods)
Flame of Recca
Gatekeepers
Legend of the Overfiend
Macross F
Read or Die

Truthfully it all depends on which type of anime you prefer. It varires from person to person.
Anyways, just to name a few that I think were good and might be worth a watch for others would be;
Samurai Champloo/Cowboy Bebop
Samurai 7 (come on, Akira Kurosawa classic)
Samurai X Rurouni Kenshin Trust and Betrayal (personally I didnt care much for the series)
Ergo Proxy
Witch Hunter Robin
Tenjho Tenge
Bakunyu Hyper Battle
Burst Angel
Rayearth/2
Sailor Moon/R/S/SS/Stars
Arjuna
Argentosoma
Full Metal Panic/Fumoffu/TSR
Mobile Suit Gundam (Most of the different series was good. However I still have a problem with SEED)
Martian Successor Nadesico
Onegai Teacher/Twins
Oh My Goddess!/Ah! My Goddess/ the Adventure of Mini Goddess
Pani Poni Dash
Azumanga Daioh
Comic Party/Revolution (the Dreamcast game was cool)
I'm gonna stop right there for now, personally me, I have too many favorites to put down. There are a few that I didnt mention such as Neon Genesis Evangelion and Excel Saga just to name a couple, that I'm sure a few people out there either didnt like it or just didnt understand it. I guess thats common among all anime......

Anime is for everyone they just haven't found theirs yet. I think that is a true statement cause there is something out there that just draws you in in the world of anime, for me it was the Sci Fi channel every Sunday showing the old school anime that got me hooked originally and then Cowboy Bebop and Yu Yu Hakusho years later .

I really like it, its still going on in Japan. It up to episode 85 subbed.

Set during the end of a nineteenth century on a fictional Earth, D.Gray-man mostly centers around 15-year-old Allen Walker, who is gifted with the ability to control a weaponized form of a divine substance from ages past, called Innocence, and becomes an Exorcist of the Black Order. This secretive organization aims to stop the plan set in motion by the Millennium Earl to destroy all life on Earth, thus 'cleansing' it. But the Earl has raised an army of Akuma, created by taking advantage of grief over a loved one's death, and summoned the direct descendants of Noah himself, the 13-strong Noah family, to aid him in his second attempt. Because of the Akuma's ability to wear a human's skin, they are nearly undetectable by any human. Allen proves to be a powerful asset as his 'cursed' left eye is able to detect the Akuma. But soon, this battle nearly turns into a race to collect the 109 Innocence fragments, scattered since the Great Flood of Noah, as the search to find the most powerful Innocence the 'Great Heart' ensues.

When it comes to anime I'm very picky...I was wondering if you guys could suggest some good movies to me by taking a look at what some of my favorites are so far.

Here is the stuff I like:

Vampire Hunter D
Afro Samurai
Spirited Away
Princess Mononoke
Howl's Moving Castle
Ninja Scroll
Gantz (this was alright...kinda weird)
Ghost in a Shell
Akira

Question: Are these on actual videotapes or DVDs, or have you people downloaded them of some Fansub Sites?

Well, here are the three anime I'm Focusing on at the moment

Fist of The North Star (Hokuto No Ken) - A few months ago, i paid £100 for 17 disks of FOTNS, which featured every episode, and i Enjoyed it, it has a great story, and some Heartwarming moments. Sadly only 34 episodes were Dubbed, which sucked.

Lucky Star - This is the latest Anime i got into too. I find it quite witty, and a tribute to Anime, and Videogames, because they contain a Bunch of them. I was introduced to it, when my Friend ordered some DVDs from a Manga store, and Lucky Star was part of them, so i watched them with her. I am awaiting my Ordered Lucky Star Dub Version, from what I have seen of the trailer, it's a good dub

Bleach - I find it enjoyable, and the Dub of it has some great actors, and i don't care who disagrees with me, they just need to throw out these episodes, much faster. I have the two DVDs off the Dub.

Time for LimePenguin's totally freakin' obscure favorites!

-Higurashi no Naku Koro ni
-Lovely Complex
-Demon Detective Neuro
-Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei
-Gurren Lagaan

Now Higurashi was released in America as "When They Cry", but the company releasing the dub went belly-up, so now you'll have to watch the episodes online.

Lovely Complex was a short-lived but sweet romantic comedy that was...actually funny. It also had its feet on the ground, which was pretty cool.

Demon Detective Neuro is...So freakin' awesome! Check it out on Crunchyroll or some thing!

Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei (Goodbye Mr. Despair) is just...weird.

Gurren Lagann? Look it up!

I gotta second Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei... I ain't much of an anime fan(if you piled all my anime DVDs(including multiple volumes of series') next to one book from each manga I have, the manga pile would be twice as tall) but that show just rules all. I mean... Itoshiki is awesome enough, but then you add Chiri and you have yourself a winnar.

BTW, the manga is out in the US next year.

Don't forget to watch Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kai as well as the Higurashi Live Action movie. This shit got totally overshadowed by everyone circle jerking to L and Kira. :)

Now I have tons of anime in my external HDD (500GB if your curious). I tend to like many if not most anime out there. If you guys have any request for an anime for me to watch please by all means tell me. Summer is coming and I would love to watch anime that the community recommends. This is also a great way to share with one another anime we have not seen. Thanks and begin the onslaught of anime! :ninja:

Anime In External HDD: (I also recommend all these anime)

Avatar The Last Airbender (not an anime I know but pretty damn good)
Bleach
Blood +

Ergo Proxy
Fullmetal Alchemist
Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex

I really liked:

Azumanga Daioh-that show is really spontaneously funny. I had a blast watching the series.

Excel Saga- It's just insane

Pokemon-C'mon you know you loved it way back when. I would still watch it today for nostalgia.

Rurouni Kenshin-I absolutely love the entire series. In fact I was watching it right before I read this thread!

YuYu Hakusho-It's like Dragonball Z, but with characters I actually like and battles that are interesting to watch.

Requiem from the Darkness is a good spooky horror anime. The plot is about a writer who travels Japan collecting 100 ghost stories, all the while encountering various horrors. It's got fanservice, so you can't complain.

I used to be into anime many years ago, but then realized that most of these series were pure crap. Sorry and no offense to the fans, but the plots are mostely plain silly, the characters flat and the animation a joke. But there are SOME anime that I can't help but love, wether it's due sentimental values or them being simply good.

Or even VERY good as in case of Cowboy Beebop - one of my fav SciFi series in general. Also, a very good anime that used to run in polish television many years ago Soul Hunter - strongly recomend to anyone who hasn't seen it yet.
