A new third party console is nothing new. I remember when the TurboGrafx 16 or the Philips CD-i was released, gaining the attention of the gaming public if not for a short while. Those systems however, were both over priced pieces with no third-party support. The Zeebo seems to be under cutting the competition, making a console that has fun games for less. Sonic Adventure, FIFIA, and Quake look to be some of the launch titles we'll be seeing, titles all ready loved by gamers everywhere. So, will we see a return to form with the Zeebo? Or, will the Zeebo crash and burn like so many before it?

I think it will be loved by old school gamers, like myself, and shunned by the new generation of gamers raised on the 360 and Wii. If this is the case, I hope Zeebo will specifically target us old schoolers and bring some of our favorites back to life. Maybe even they'll bring back some good old fashioned 2d action platforming or shmups, or create some new ones specifically for the system. I know I probably buy it when it first hits shelves. And hey, if it fails, somebody will probably pay exorbitant amounts of money for it 20 years down the road on e-bay... so I got that going for me too!

It's a console for third world countries. So I doubt it'll be a big hit here. ((not because we don't care when it's third world but because the companies think so))

The Zeebo will have downloadable games using 3G Network. I don't think they will be selling this product in the US (Sorry Cameraman Joe). The market they are aiming is Brazil and Mexico.

Here's the first video from an exclusive for Zeebo (Translated from Portuguese by Google translator):

Quote:
The Tec Toy has released the first trailer for Extreme Zeebo first game exclusive to the console. Extreme Zeebo will use the motion sensitive control of the console and is scheduled to be launched in September. Initially only 3 modes are available (Rolim, cross ball and running air), but by year's end to add other Tec Toy 3

The launch of Zeebo is scheduled for June, but Tec Toy has been facing problems with the high value of the dollar that could enhance the price of the other console.

Man, I wish it would come to America, watching that video made me flashback to my Dreamcast days
