This week we find out Black Ops 2 is coming, Zenimax is working on an MMO RPG and Valve talks about E3 and what not to expect from them.
Wow I feel like I got owned by Valve, I was hoping for a left for dead 3 if not a half-life.
Hey guys I like this weekly update but this show is not consistent where other shows are released every week on the same day. I have also noticed during the news report that handsome tom sometimes mistakes what he is trying to say like he is not reading from a script or has not rehearsed to make his show the best that it can be.
I may be mistaken but I thought after every update there was going to be a trailer to a new video game. I know websites like ign that have a daily news show so I know there is no shortage of video games to report on or trailers.
While I was watching the angry video game nerd I found that he is associated with this website called screwattack.com They have a daily video game news show and its pretty funny. It is similar to this weekly update show but they present the news daily and it seems like more effort is put into the writing as well.
Not trying to be negative I just know this weekly update show can be even better than it already is.
As of the current date of this post all of your websites content from May 11 – May 16 no longer is appearing on the website.
I have saved my previous posts in case any data is lost.
I tried to access the link “http://thegameheroes.com/contact/” to notify staff about the issue but got an error message.
Not sure if this was one of the issues Tom was talking about but I have never seen content disappear from a website before. Hope you guys didn’t get hacked.
Over the past couple of days I have started engaging in interesting conversation with the other members on this website and would like to continue to do so. I have noticed that all of these shows have no discussions besides gamer girl of the month for obvious reasons. There have been a few weak attempts by “Just-Joe” but he acts like a pawn and all he does is kiss Tom’s ass.
Of course there will always be content that doesn’t please everybody but when I have to wait every 2 – 3 days to see if new content is added and then find out it is content I am not interested in I need something else to keep me engaged on the website. This is when I turn to the social discussions.
Even though this website doesn’t appear as popular as screwattack or ign based on their video views and social discussions there is an incredible amount of potential here.
I have been reading on the screwattack website that they have been challenging other video game websites to a video game showdown. That sounds really cool and I will put in a good word for you guys in their discussion forums.
From a business perspective your fan base will increase and increase the probability for more people like myself to contribute to the discussions on this website.
I decided to give this website a chance because I am a fan of video games but I can only imagine when people stumble across this website anonymously and see every video has “0 comments” that they must think this website is dead.
I realized from my previous discussions that some users think I may sound a little harsh so please don’t take my assessment personally.
I previously stated before I am not into podcasts but your Avengers podcast is something that has caught my attention and I am looking forward to hearing. I got the chance to see the movie last week and may be going again this weekend to see it taking my cousins as an excuse to see it again.
Keep up the good work!
I agree. Perhaps they could do something like a giving away an XBLA game for commenting to encourage more people to join in discussions.
That is a great idea and it is nice to see that we now have 2 people actively participating on this website, but in order for this website to have a contest you have to meet a certain profit margin.
Of course I wouldn’t mind risking $20 on 1600 Microsoft points to get more people to join but as Tom builds this website bigger better prizes could be offered. I’m not sure how long this website has been around but it appears to still be in it’s infancy since there are only 2 users posting comments on this website. I tried to use the “next page” buttons to get to the last page to get some sort of a timeframe this site has been around but I keep getting errors.
Tom makes his money by how many unique views each video has. There is no online store so I don’t see any other way he can make money besides having a side job. I one day am considering posting videos in similar fashion. I was thinking of contacting blip.tv to see how much they will pay out per 100 or 1000 viewers. I don’t think the videos on this website get many views to earn enough money to make a living let alone pay for a prize.
I am no expert but I think if you want to build this website you have to devote all of your time to it. Not only that but you will need almost a clone of yourself working for the company that will devote as much time as you. An ideal person or this position would be a spouse or a good friend you can trust. In my personal experiences my friends from my childhood I can trust without thinking twice about it. These are the kinds of people I would do business with. If you can get this far though you have to make sure everyday that your partner still has the same passion as you do or it may be best to part ways. Treat it as your baby.
On a separate topic I noticed that all of the content from the past 6 days disappeared. I’m not sure if you are having the same issues. I have saved my previous posts in case a hard drive crashed and data was lost.
I’m not sure you were the individual but I remember someone saying it was ironic that I was mentioning other competitors on this site. It sounds like there is some sort of inside joke going on here but I missed out because the content was lost from the past 6 days.
Oh well I’m sure things will be back up to normal in no time but I wish the staff would notify its customers when these issues will be fixed. I tried to use the “contact” link to let the staff know of the issues but got an error there as well.
Look forward to your feedback MrHollywood360
It isn’t showing content from the last 6 days for me either. It also it seems like forum posts from a week ago aren’t showing up. I don’t know if it’s the same problem or something completely different.
Also I said it was ironic that people keep bringing up ScrewAttack because Tom left that site a while ago.
Ok that makes sense. Given all of the errors on this website I find myself spending more time on screwattack.com
I like a lot of the shows they have, I have to say hard news and death battle are probably my favorite shows. Hard News is similar to this weekly news report except it is delivered daily and they put on a better performance. I won’t explain why because I have done so in a previous post. Death Battle they put two video game characters against each other and fight to the death. I haven’t gotten into their podcast sidescrollers because it is sort of boring to me. I’m not into podcasts unless it is a subject that really appeals to me. Besides, I have friends in real life I already sit down with and talk to about video games.
Call it luck of the draw but I find myself back onto this website because the screwattack website has been down while they add new features to the website. The website owner Craig says that the site will be back up shortly.
Ign and screwattack have minimal technical difficulties and appeal to me a great deal. I have located the user forums on this website and I found out that this website has been having issues for the last 3+ months. Not only that but Tom is really getting desperate reaching out to the users asking for help to fix the website.
I have spoken very highly of Tom’s leadership qualities but asking your customers to help you fix your website makes me question Tom’s leadership skills. From Tom’s post he describes the changes/adjustments as really easy work and leads me to believe that this should have been fixed 3 months ago. This website sounds more like Tom’s hobby. I apologized about questioning Tom’s passion but I am starting to think I am right.
I don’t get how Tom says he is hiring new people and adding upgrades. Why don’t you focus on fixing your issues first before adding new features to a broken website. I’m no longer excited about new features here because once they are added they will not work.
Let’s pretend the website errors are fixed, the next step since Tom is affiliated with Screwattack is to throw out a video game challenge. All he has to do is post a video calling Screwattack out as a bunch of weak little girls. Screwattack is going across country challenging other gaming websites to a gaming competition. Wherever their city is they will go to their home turf. This is a true original idea coming from Screwattack. Their website appears to be very busy with users posting all the time so I haven’t suggested they challenge thegameheroes.com
Tom must have left Screwattack a long time ago because I haven’t seen him in the videos. Of course he may have been working behind the camera which explains why I don’t see him.
This website is a learning experience for Tom and partnering up with Screwattack is a good idea. Of course the video game challenges aren’t meant to be personal, but the character Handsome Tom can put on a show and make it seem personal. As their business grows your business grows its a win win combination.
MrHollywood360 thanks for your feedback.
As time passes more people will start posting their comments here and the website will grow.
But first things first, Tom needs to fix the website.
